'In a really good place': Renshaw ready for Test return

A more balanced and mature Matt Renshaw had his first hitout in the nets with Australia in Mackay and has been backed to vindicate his Test recall after a three-year absence.

The 30-year-old opener strode confidently into a net session on Wednesday morning at Great Barrier Reef Arena, just after his Queensland teammate Marnus Labuschagne fine-tuned his preparation for the second Test against Bangladesh which starts on Saturday.

Renshaw, who is set to open with Travis Head, replaced axed opener Jake Weatherald who failed to fire in the nine-wicket loss in the first Test in Darwin.
