The Japan News will conduct a major revamp of both its website and print edition on March 28. Our paper will be reborn as a more readable and user-friendly news source with a wider range of articles. We aim to become the most reliable media outlet providing the world with up-to-date information on Japan, and we will continue our efforts to better serve our readers. We look forward to your continued support.
-- Website renewal
・A new design has been adopted to better fit both smartphone and computer screens. The main page will carry significantly more articles, and readers can easily check the latest news by category.
・The overall number of articles will also increase, covering a wide variety of the latest news topics from Japan and around the world. A new section featuring articles from The Washington Post, a U.S. partner of The Japan News, will also be set up on the site.
・The text-to-speech service that is available for Premium Plan members will be upgraded to convert the text into a more natural-sounding voice.
-- Redesign of print edition
・We will start a new column, "Political Pulse," to provide our readers with analysis of current topics in Japanese politics in an easy-to-understand manner. The biweekly column will be written by Yomiuri Shimbun senior reporters who have covered politics extensively, providing expert insight into Japanese political issues.
・The redesigned print edition will also carry more Washington Post articles, offering two pages every day.
