Impact Network is undergoing a significant transformation as it shifts its focus from a faith and gospel-centered channel to a platform offering family-friendly lifestyle entertainment tailored for Black audiences. In an exclusive reveal by Variety, the network's first 'Impact Original' movie titled 'The Life of Me' has been announced.
The film features a star-studded cast including Brian White, Brandon T. Jackson, and Danielle Nicolet. White portrays Marcus Banks, a wealthy businessman who becomes disillusioned by his family's unethical business practices. Fleeing to a small town, Marcus, under the alias 'Dom,' discovers friendship, love, and a new perspective on life. However, he is forced to confront his past and redefine his future when his family's company threatens his newfound community.
Nicolet plays Kennedy, a single mother and cafe owner who becomes romantically involved with Marcus/Dom. Jackson takes on the role of Simon, the ruthless fixer for the Banks family. The film, written and directed by Ty Manns, is produced by The Impact Network & Manns Mackie Studios, with Bishop Wayne T. Jackson and Royal Jackson serving as executive producers.
'The Life of Me' marks the beginning of Impact Network's venture into entertainment programming, expanding beyond religious content. Founded in 2010 by Bishop Wayne T. Jackson and Beverly Jackson, the network has evolved under the leadership of their son, Royal Jackson, who now serves as chief creative officer.
With a strategic shift towards family-friendly content and scripted series, Impact Network aims to address various aspects affecting Black communities, including health, wellness, finance, and culture. The film, shot in Nashville, is the first of the network's 'Impact Original' productions.
Represented by notable agencies, the cast members bring their talents to this compelling narrative. White, Nicolet, and Jackson are backed by strong representation as they bring their characters to life on screen.
