I'm quietly replacing my old summer wardrobe with the new FatFace collection - and I'm already getting compliments

Four models wearing FatFace's new summer collection.

There's nothing I love more than scrolling through the new arrivals at my favourite British clothing brands all year round, but there's something about a summer collection that hits different.

I'm seriously impressed with FatFace's new campaign. It's called In Hot Pursuit, and it was inspired by the stunning scenery of the Côte d’Azur. Think blue and white stripes, luxurious linen, basket bags and floaty dresses. Their shorts are some of the most flattering I've ever come across, and the dresses have all got pockets. Hurrah!

Sizes range from UK 6 to 24, and there are petite options available too. Look closely, and you'll notice really clever design details, such as thick straps so you can wear your best bra underneath, as well as adjustable ties and breathable fabrics. Whether you've got a holiday booked or are just awaiting the next heatwave back home, fill your shopping basket before everything sells out. Be warned - I find the dresses seem to fly out particularly fast, and you don't want to miss out on your size!

This is a popular option from the new collection, with its stretchy shirred bodice and V-neckline. The frill shoulders give you a flattering bit of upper arm coverage, and it's available in both regular and petite lengths.

Polka dots are huge news for summer this year, and this slightly smudged painted spot print is a refreshing take on the trend. The self-tie straps mean the neckline will fit you perfectly, and there's a split in the skirt so it's easy to walk in. It's 100% linen, and it's selling fast.

A little cardigan or jacket is a must for chilly evenings, and this cream crochet knit is a great alternative to your tired old denim jacket. It will work with any colour combination, and will fit into your basket bag when you don't need it.

I've only had this dress for a week, but I've already had lots of compliments on it. There are two ties - one at the neckline, one at the waist, so you can adjust the fit, and it looks much more expensive than £65. It's my new favourite summer dress for sure!

I felt really good on the beach in the swimsuit when I tested it out. The straps are adjustable, there's a subtle bit of padding at the bust, and the ruching at the hip can be adjusted too. This one-piece offers a great amount of coverage.

I'm not someone who can fit everything into a tiny clutch bag, but this roomy tote is really light to carry around, during the day and into the evening. It fits all your in-flight essentials, too.

I've seen this red striped set all over Instagram, and it's really striking in real life. There's a skirt, camisole and trousers to choose from, and the pink and red colour combination is just sensational. Vertical stripes are always flattering, and it's a linen blend material, too.

If you only try one thing from the new FatFace collection, make it their linen. From shirts to shorts, I'm never shopping anywhere else for linen! The price is really reasonable, plus these shirts travel, wash and iron really well.

This might look like another dress, but it's an easy breezy jumpsuit. Perfect for packing in your holiday suitcase, it's a whole outfit in one that can be dressed up or down depening on your plans. Well worth £65.

FatFace or Alaia? These ballet flats could definitely pass for designer, and I love the scalloped edges. Like so many other pieces on this list, they're selling quickly so don't wait to try them for yourself.

I struggle to find shorts I feel confident wearing, but FatFace get the length just right. I've got the cobalt blue linen version of the Amberly shorts, but the denim is next on my list.

A chic neutral base for your favourite summer accessories, this dress features really clever adjustable button straps so you can find your perfect fit. This is a maxi that will still look good next summer, and the one after...

You can't go wrong with a pair of palazzo trousers when you're packing for a trip, and this shell print style ticks all the right boxes. The beachy print will get you in the mood for a holiday even if you have to wait a while for your next trip.

This dress is just so pretty. A combination of florals and stripes, it's got those adjustable tie straps again. I didn't know how much I needed those in my life! How good does this look with a pair of wedge espadrilles?

And finally, not forgetting the importance of a pair of the most comfortable sandals. In chocolate brown suede with a whipstitch detailing, I'd never have guessed these were under £60.

FatFace is definitely giving high street brands like M&S a run for their money with this summer collection. They've also just released their first homeware collection, so if it's never been on your radar before, then it's time to read up.
