Melbourne Victory star Chris Ikonomidis and Perth Glory defender Jack Clisby have been slapped with two-match bans following their ugly on-field confrontation.
Ikonomidis was handed a straight red card in his side's 3-1 loss to Glory on Saturday for kicking out at Clisby after being tackled to the ground.
Clisby also saw red for retaliation, after bundling Ikonomidis over and lunging at the Victory player's throat area.
The A-League Men match review panel (MRP) determined both players had committed the offence of assault on a player.
The panel's decision to hand down a two-match ban to both players means they have escaped with the minimum penalty.
Adelaide defender Ben Warland was also slapped with a two-match ban for his studs-up challenge on Macarthur winger Craig Noone on Friday.
Warland was red-carded for the 17th-minute incident, which left Noone with clear stud marks on his thigh.
Adelaide, who were leading 1-0 at the time, won the match.
The panel determined Warland committed the offence of serious foul play when challenging for the ball.
The minimum sanction for the offence is one match, but the MRP added a further match to the penalty.
Warland can choose to appeal the ban.
