Australia’s internet regulator has begun legal action against Telegram for allegedly failing to remove terror material on the messaging platform, including Isis and beheading videos.
The office of the eSafety Commissioner said it began action after Telegram failed to remove videos of terrorist executions and mass shootings. The news comes a day after Russia charged the platform’s founder Pavel Durov with facilitating terrorist activity, alleging that the app was being used by Ukrainian spies to organise attacks inside Russia.
