If Tiger Woods’ Wealth Were Evenly Distributed Across America, How Much Money Would Every Person Get?

If he isn’t the greatest golfer ever, Tiger Woods is certainly at the forefront of the discussion. In 2022, he was also “one of just three known athlete billionaires,” according to Forbes. Woods surpassed the 10-digit net wealth mark a few years ago through his golf earnings, investment projects and extremely lucrative endorsement deals.

Let’s take a look at his staggering net worth and speculate how much it could spread to his fellow Americans.

Also see what you’d get if America’s top five billionaires split their wealth evenly.

Tiger Woods’ Net Worth

According to Forbes’ real-time net worth profiles, Woods’ fortune is approximately $1.3 billion, which places him around the 2,754th richest person in the world. While his $121 million in lifetime PGA Tour prize money is impressive, much of Woods’ net worth was built on his brand sponsorship deals.

Although some companies withdrew support for Woods after a string of marital infidelity allegations in 2009, Woods’ past and current business partnerships are among the most profitable in the history of sport, including a 27-year deal with Nike that reportedly made him about $660 million, according to Fortune.

His main earnings now stem from a number of well-connected business enterprises, including his umbrella company TGR Ventures, his event production firm TGR Live, The Woods Jupiter restaurant, golf course and mini-golf design businesses TGR Design and PopStroke, and much more.

How Much Money Would Every American Get?

Woods’ $1.3 billion net worth is a lot of money, but America has a lot of people. According to the U.S. Census’ World Population Clock, America’s population is nearing 343 million, with a birth happening every nine seconds and a death occurring every nine seconds (a net gain of one person every 57 seconds).

Using these numbers, every American would receive $3.79 if Tiger Woods’ wealth were evenly distributed among the citizens of the United States. In contrast, if Elon Musk’s vast fortune were evenly distributed, every American would receive $2,463.

Moving the Goalposts (or Tee Markers)

Of course, this hypothetical scenario is calculated using simple math to include every American. But if we were to weed out those who are richer than Woods or who are wealthy enough to not need the $3.79, what would Woods’ pot provide?

Musk, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg don’t need Tiger’s money, and there are many other people who don’t need the pocket change either. Taking out billionaires (nearly 3,200 in the U.S., per Forbes) and millionaires (around 24 million, according to UBS’s 2025 Global Wealth Report), every American would get $4.08.
