Idris Elba's rose named best celebrity tipple ahead of National Drink Wine Day

Idris Elba's Porte Noire Rose has been named the best value celebrity wine in a new study ahead of National Drink Wine Day on Friday.

Conducted by money.co.uk, the study analysed the the average cost of 85 wines and liquors backed by famous face.

Quality was measured by each drink's star rating on vivino.com for wine and distiller.com for liquor, with every beverage then given a combined score out of 100.

Luther star Elba's Porte Noire Rose, which costs an average £28 a bottle, scored 85 thanks to a 4.4 out of 5 star rating.

Sarah Jessica Parker's Invivo X Sauvignon Blanc came second on 83.5, with the Sex and the City star's tipple averaging £16 a bottle with a 4.1 star rating.

American rapper Post Malone came third with his Maison No. 9 Rose, which scored 82.5.

Jon Bon Jovi and Mary J Blige edged Graham Norton out of the top five, with the BBC presenter having three wines in the top 15.

Brad Pitt, Gordon Ramsey and Kylie Minogue also featured in the top 10, with Drew Barrymore, Snoop Dogg and Cameron Diaz appearing further down the ratings.

The research also rated celebrity liquors, with American singer Jason Derulo topping the charts with his Bedlam Vodka, which scored 87 thanks to an average cost of £16 a bottle and an average score of 4.5 out of 5.

Hollywood star Kate Hudson;s gluten-free King St. Vodka came in second, with Channing Tatum's Born and Bred Potato Vodka third.

RnB singer Ciara's Ten To One White Rum and Kendall Jenner's 818 Tequila Reposado rounded out the top five.
