Movie star Idris Elba has revealed his showbiz dream – a duet with Adele.
The Luther actor, who is also a DJ, presented the singer with her album of the year award at the Brits.
And he said working with Adele, whose album 30 was last year’s biggest selling record, would be fantastic.
He said: “If one day I make a record and Adele says, ‘I kind of like it’, I will definitely build up the courage and say, ‘Hey, Adele, you wanna do a collab?’
“I think I have got to earn some more stripes before that happens.”
Adele, 33, is also an admirer of Idris and previously said she would like to see him replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond.
He sent fans into a frenzy back in 2018 when he tweeted a selfie with the caption, “My name’s Elba, Idris Elba”, sparking speculation that he was being lined up for the part.
He is in London finishing the Luther film. “I am three-quarters of the way into the first Luther movie,” he told Fox TV.
“It has been a long time coming. It is dark. It is a tough film to make [but] I am in a good mood today because I have got a day off.”
Other actors tipped to take over as Bond include Venom actor Tom Hardy, Superman’s Henry Cavill as well as Scots Sam Heughan from Outlander and Richard Madden of The Bodyguard.
