Iconic reality show Four Weddings set for reboot 10 years on with major new twist

Iconic reality show Four Weddings is being rebooted 10 years after it last aired – but with a new twist.

The show, which originally aired on Sky Living from 2009 to 2013, once featured Steps star Faye Tozer’s wedding to Michael Smith.

In Come Dine With Me style, it follows follows four couples who compete for their dream honeymoon.

Each episode sees brides and grooms brutally rank each other’s big day out of 10 for the food, outfits, value for money and overall experience.

At the end of the old show the couples would meet at the airport to discover which one of them has won a luxury honeymoon.

But instead of whisking newlyweds off on a holiday of a lifetime, the new show will instead offer a cash prize to the winners.

Producers have ditched the honeymoon in favour of £50,000 in cash to spend how they please.

In the event of a tie, the money will be split evenly between the two winning couples.

A casting call out for new contestants reads: “MultiStory Media are looking for brilliant betrothed couples for the returning NEW series of FOUR WEDDINGS.

“Where four couples share their wedding day and opinions for a chance to win a prize of £50,000.

“We’re looking for amazing characters with style and extraordinary plans for their special day who must be getting married between June and September 2023.”

Applications for the show are open now and will close on September 23, 2023. It is thought filming will take place later this year.

The Mirror has approached MultiStory Media, who are producing the show, for further comment on the story.

The TV production company are also behind hit shows such as Come Dine With Me, All Star Musicals, Piers Morgan Life Stories and Martin Lewis Money Show.

Earlier this year, an insider told The Sun : “Producers have seen the success of Married at First Sight and are looking to make Four Weddings a hit with even more drama than the original.

“Everyone loves a wedding show, especially after the success of Don’t Tell The Bride.”

The reboot follows the success of hit shows like Married At First Sight (E4)

Shows like Married At First Sight have blown up in recent years. Originally of Danish origin, it is now aired in Australia, America and the UK.

The Australian show is about to reach its big climax in May when it will be revealed which couples will choose to stay together.

A new UK series is thought to be in the works and expected to air later in 2023.

Following the success of last year’s show, the new Married At First Sight UK is set to be even longer than previous series and could run for as long as eight weeks.

If it is anything like previous series, it will air in around August.
