Shares of ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company fell 2% to their day’s low of Rs 513 on the BSE on Friday after 34.4 crore shares worth nearly Rs 1.2 lakh crore became eligible for trade after the six-month IPO lock-in period expired, according to Nuvama Institutional Equities.
The shares of the company made a decent market debut in December last year, listing with a premium of 20% over the IPO price at Rs 2,606.20 apiece on BSE. This came after the IPO was subscribed 39.17 times overall, driven primarily by qualified institutional buyers, whose portion was subscribed nearly 124 times.
After listing, the shares of the company fell around 3% to hit a record low of Rs 2,528.90 apiece in the same month. The stock then soared 43% in nearly five months to hit a record high of Rs 3,609.85 apiece in May. The shares of the company have fallen around 5% since then to close at Rs 3,433.65 apiece on Thursday. The stock is still 32% higher than its listing price and 59% higher than its IPO price of Rs 2,165 apiece.

ICICI Prudential AMC earnings snapshot
ICICI Prudential AMC in April posted a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 763 crore in Q4, marking a 10% year-on-year increase from Rs 692 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Profit before tax for the quarter rose to Rs 1,039 crore, compared with Rs 917 crore a year earlier.
The company reported operating profit of Rs 1,128 crore in Q4, up 30% YoY from Rs 866 crore in Q4 FY25, reflecting improved cost control and operating leverage. For the full financial year, the company delivered strong earnings growth. FY26 profit after tax rose to Rs 3,298 crore, up 24.4% from Rs 2,651 crore in FY25. Profit before tax for the year increased 24.7% to Rs 4,407 crore, while operating profit climbed 28.9% to Rs 4,171 crore.
The company reported a customer base of 17 million investors and maintained a wide distribution network of over 1.14 lakh partners across 281 offices, highlighting its strong retail reach and scale in the domestic mutual fund industry.
