Frozen food specialists Iceland have launched a new budget range of grocery items to rival the likes of Asda’s ‘Just Essentials ’. The supermarket have announced their new ‘Value Essentials’ in a move to help shoppers keep their grocery bills down.
It comes as welcome news to shoppers as grocery price inflation hits 11.6 per cent this week, with many ditching named brands in favour of supermarket’s ‘cheap’ ranges amid the cost of living crisis.
Items like bread, milk and fruit , are included in the range, as well as mealtime staples and a dupe of a well-known butter brand that hit the headlines for significant price rises recently.

Iceland’s new range of affordable, everyday essentials will include own-brand and branded products, with prices starting from as little as 69p for Lathum’s Loaves Medium Sliced White Bread, and Warburtons crumpets priced at 85p for a pack of six.
Those looking for great value breakfast staples will be pleased to know that Iceland is also launching morning meal items in its affordable range, such as its Spring Vale Pork Sausages, Oakpark Smoked Back Bacon and Iceland Mixed Weight Free Range Eggs all for £1 a pack – perfect for a classic fry-up. Dairypak - similar to Lurpak - will cost £2 for 500g - a fraction of the cost of the branded product.
With back-to-school just weeks away, families can also pick-up lunch box essentials. Sandwich items such as its Deli Co Cooked Ham costs £1, while Iceland Mild White Cheddar is £1.50 for 220g. Meanwhile Easy Peelers come in at a quid, as do apples and Iceland Chocolate Mousse for those with a sweeter tooth.
The new products are introduced after a series of value led initiatives from Iceland to help consumers during the cost of living crisis, including its £1 price freeze on its value frozen range and an exclusive 10 per cent discount for shoppers aged 60 and over.
The value range items can be bought in-store at both Iceland and The Food Warehouse as well as online at www.iceland.co.uk and via the Iceland app.
