What Happened in the Last Edition Women T20 World Cup 2024?

The previous Women's T20 World Cup ended with New Zealand lifting their maiden title after defeating South Africa in the final in October 2024.

Australia topped Group A with four wins from four matches, while New Zealand secured the second semifinal berth. India finished third in the group and missed qualification for the knockouts despite winning two matches.

In Group B, West Indies and South Africa progressed to the semifinals after a closely fought race decided by net run rate. England narrowly missed out, while Bangladesh and Scotland finished outside the qualification spots.

India Eyes Stronger Run in 2026

After falling short of the semifinals in the previous edition, India will be aiming for a deeper run in the tournament. With key matches against Pakistan, South Africa and England in the group stage, the team will need a consistent performance to secure a place in the last four.

The month-long tournament promises high-profile rivalries, emerging stars and intense competition as the world's top women's teams battle for the T20 crown in England and Wales.
