France's World Cup heroes Jules Kounde and Ibrahima Konate had to put the champagne on ice after helping their side reach the World Cup final with a win over Morocco.
Goals from Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani saw Les Blues reach back-to-back finals and set up a massive showdown with Lionel Messi's Argentina to decide who takes home the trophy from Qatar, as Walid Regragui saw the Atlas Lion's remarkable journey in the Middle East come to an end at the semi-final stage. Morocco enjoyed long spells of dominate in the second half but the resolute defending of the French saw them hold out to reach the 2022 showpiece.
Liverpool star Konate and Barcelona defender Kounde were central to Didier Deschamps side making the final but had to put any post-match celebrations on hold after the full-time whistle on Wednesday. The duo were randomly selected for doping tests and missed out on the party atmosphere in the dressing room.
Konate shared a clip of the delay to his Instagram page. He posted a clip of Konate being held up to his story as he commented: "We can't even celebrate." Kounde responded: "It sucks."
