‘I won’t have anybody call me a liar’, Katie Price tells ex Kieran Hayler’s trial

  • Reality TV star Katie Price engaged in a heated exchange with defence barrister Arlette Piercy during the rape trial of her ex-husband, Kieran Hayler, at Lewes Crown Court , strongly rejecting accusations that she was lying or pursuing a vendetta.
  • Kieran Hayler, 39, is currently on trial accused of three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault against a 13-year-old girl in West Sussex in 2016, all of which he denies.
  • During cross-examination, Price rejected claims that her testimony was driven by malice over Hayler's past affair with their nanny, whom Price admitted selecting because she was not very attractive to discourage him from cheating.
  • Price told the jury she was deeply shocked by the allegations because they involved a child, insisting that she harboured no venom towards Hayler and was not acting out of revenge. She said: “I don’t need to be here. You can see in black and white something’s gone on. I won’t have anybody call me a liar.”
  • Hayler maintains his innocence and claims that his ex-wife launched a campaign against him following the breakdown of their marriage in 2018; the trial continues.
