Elf Cosmetics have released the most beautiful colour palette collection- so I had to give it a try.
For me, I usually would wear warmer tones (I have olive skin and green eyes) but, the Cookies 'N' Dream's collection had to be an exception.
It's filled with icey blue hues and bold monochrome crayon like shadows to really create a bold look- so I put it to the test.
I like to play with make up and get out of my comfort zone so this is a great opportunity.
Also, when do you ever get the chance to wear a black lip gloss? Exactly, we all have to try something new every once in a while.
I love this Cookies 'N' Dreams eyeshadow palette so much (just £9).
The colours had NO fallout, and the pigment, for an affordable range, is incredible.
This is usually the biggest problem with a more affordable collection- you more often than not find that the colours are practically unblendable or no pigment to make the colours POP.
I started this look using the No Budge white eyeshadow stick on the whole lid- then moved onto the eyeshadow palette.
I am so impressed with the perfect mix of mattes, shimmers and metallics- and it is honestly a great palette for both a dramatic or neutral look.
I have used the palette for a black smoky look and this dramatic one (above).
With the matte blue I created a light cut crease, with the darker metallic blue I used under the eye on the lash line, with the light blue metallic I went just under the lash line and in the corners for a highlighting effect then blended out the colours with the black metallic to create more of a line for a little liner too.
The black lip gloss is a welcomed change for me too. Especially from using just reds and mattes all my life it's great to try new things with colours you wouldn't tend to use before.
