McDonald's has made some big changes to its menu this week with four items being axed and two new items being added.
The new Taste of Spain and Cyprus additions include 'The Spicy Spanish Stack' and 'The Chicken Fiesta' along with halloumi fries available as a single portion or as a sharebox. The new items on the menu will replace the popular Italian range, which included the Crispy Chicken Italiano Burger, Mozzarella Dippers, the Italian Stack Burger and the Tiramisu McFlurry.
The new Spicy Spanish Stack consists of two beef patties, chilli cheddar, red onion, spicy tomato sauce and lettuce all served in a warm paprika bun. For chicken lovers, the Chicken Fiesta is made up of a crispy chicken fillet topped with chorizo, chilli cheddar, spicy tomato sauce, red onion and lettuce in a toasted chilli and paprika bun.

I decided to try the 'Chicken Fiesta' burger which was £5.69 for a medium meal, considering I was a huge fan of the previous Crispy Chicken Italiano Burger and it's safe to say I was not dissapointed. Although the burger was different to the Italian version in terms of taste, the crispy golden chicken was very similar.
Let's talk about the bun, because I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The 'toasted chilli and paprika' flavoured bun sounded like it was going to be spicy and overpowering, but it was just the right amount of flavour.
In terms of aesthetics, the bun looked amazing with a hint of red in colour. It had a good crunch to it but it wasn't too hard and it complemented the crispy golden chicken perfectly.
Although the burger itself looked a bit messy with all the spicy tomato sauce, it certainly didn't damage the flavour. I was expecting the burger to taste like tomato and nothing else, and considering I hate tomatoes, I was a little nervous to say the least.
Thankfully, the spicy tomato sauce added a hint of flavour that really worked well with the chorizo and chicken, it had a bit of a kick, but it didn't blow me away like I thought it would. Each bite of the burger was better and better, especially with the red onion, chicken, sauce, lettuce and chilli cheddar combined.
The star of the show for me had to be the halloumi fries for £2.79 though, because wow...they were incredible. The first bite blew me away and made me regret not choosing a sharebox so I could stuff my face even more.
Inside the halloumi fries the cheese was gooey, warm, and bursting with flavour. I was also generally shocked at how crispy and golden the halloumi fries were, because they can sometimes end up being a bit soggy and naff.
I'm a bit of a halloumi addict so I could be biased, but I think this might be my favourite side at McDonald's ever. Yes, even better than the Christmas camembert bites which I know might be a bit of a shock statement for some.
Did I prefer this burger to the Crispy Chicken Italiano burger? Not quite. But it was so close, believe me. Even for someone who doesn't like tomatoes, this burger was a portion of heaven.
All the flavours worked together perfectly to create a tremendous burger, and the immense halloumi fries topped it all off for me. Next up - the Spicy Spanish Stack!
