I'm always looking to whiten my teeth the quickest way possible, especially if it saves an expensive trip to the dentist.
After having a lot of success with with the Glo32 teeth whitening strips, I thought it might be time to give my teeth a bit of a break and move onto something a little easier. Teeth whitening strips are great on the lead up to a special event, but they can often cause pain on sensitive teeth, so I was after an easier solution.
The Billion Dollar Smile Purple Tooth Polish comes in a 75ml tube and is described as a 'purple shampoo for your teeth.' Formulated and made by dentists in the UK, the product is designed specifically to whiten teeth.

It features whitening ingredients and the addition of purple pigments as well as Papaya Enzyme and Vitamin E and is said to be effective at 'removing stains' and 'restoring the natural whiteness of the teeth'.
The formula contains Hydroxyapatite, which makes up around 98% of tooth enamel and helps to 'remineralise and whiten' the surface of the teeth. That sure is a lot of promises for a little tube of toothpaste, and I was definitely intrigued to see if it actually worked.
The product
Aesthetically, I really liked the packaging, it was feminine but not too feminine and looked generally quite expensive. As I squeezed the toothpaste out of the tube I was amazed at the colour of it, it was such a bold purple.
It looked just like the purple shampoo I've got in my bathroom for my hair so naturally I was intrigued to see how it would actually taste. I was really pleasantly surprised as I began to brush my teeth, the toothpaste had a subtle refreshing mint taste that wasn't too harsh.
The consistency of the toothpaste was great, it lathered well in my mouth and wasn't too foamy. Once applied you can actually see the purple in your mouth as you scrub, which is a little daunting at first, but you soon get used to it!
After rinsing my mouth out after a good brush, I could already see slight changes to my teeth. There are a few slight yellow stains on some areas of my teeth due to excessive red wine and tea drinking (oops) but the toothpaste had already minimised that after one wash. Granted, it didn't make my teeth completely white after one wash, but it had significantly reduced the yellowness and made my teeth appear brighter and shinier.
The verdict
I've been using the toothpaste for over a month now and I can honestly say the difference has been amazing. What I really like about this toothpaste is the fact that although it whitens your teeth, it doesn't make them look like an unnatural white.
The toothpaste gives your teeth a nice bright smile that still looks natural, and it tastes great too. Although the colour of the toothpaste is a bold purple, don't worry, it works wonders and won't make your teeth purple.
This is definitely a toothpaste that needs to work gradually for maximum results, but after one try I could already see small subtle differences that made me want to use it more and more. Purchase the Billion Dollar Smile Purple Tooth Polish for £10.99 here.
