A raging paramedic swiped the keys to another crew's ambulance leaving it stuck outside A&E at Alder Hey Children's Hospital - all because of a petty comment.
Ronald Barnes-Brown's extreme reaction meant the vehicle needed to be towed away from outside the hospital and was off the road until it was re-fitted with new locks and a new ignition, heaping extra pressure on the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS).
Barnes-Brown, a 10-year-veteran of the ambulance service with an "exemplary record", was in full view of CCTV cameras and was quickly identified. He later told his bosses and Union reps he "completely lost it" and "could not explain his behaviour" during the incident, on October 26, 2019.
