Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry were recently seen in France celebrating what is being termed as their first anniversary. A Republican senator (Alabama), Katie Britt, said it's kind of odd watching the celebrity couple frolicking because Justin Trudeau led a country. "It's like, he used to be in charge of a whole country, now we sort of see him frolic," she said.

"But like how did he get with Katy Perry? That's actually the question we should be getting to. Like, who introduced them? Obviously they didn't find each other on an app. You know? Like, how did that go down?" she asked.
The former Canadian PM and Katy Perry were first spotted together in Montreal in July 2025. In October, they were seen aboard Perry's yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California. They were seen hugging and kissing. During New Year's, Katy Perry posted photos with Justin Trudeau and since then, it has been one outing after another for the couple. In January 2026, the couple made their high-profile public appearances in Davos. They were seen at Coachella and then the Tribeca Film Festival, and their latest has been a French vacation.
"They're both complete exhibitionists when they're together," National Examiner cited a source as saying. "It's probably shocking for people who know Justin from his political days."
"The problem is Katy travels with this enormous entourage wherever she goes, so people are constantly having to sit there and avert their eyes," the same report said.
Katy Perry ended her relationship with Orlando Bloom in June 2025 a month before she was first seen with Trudeau. Perry and Bloom are parents to six-year-old daughter Daisy Bloom. Justin Trudeau and his ex-wife Sophie Gregoire divorced in 2023 after 18 years of marriage. They have three children: Xavier, Ella-Grace and Hadrien.
Doing his 'boyfriend duty', Trudeau drew flak as he attended the opening match of the FIFA World Cup in Los Angeles and skipped Canada's match.
