If you've ever tried looking for love on a dating app, you'll probably be all too aware of the dilemma that you face if you come across the profile of someone you already know.
Do you swipe right and risk subtly confessing to your neighbour that you're into them, or do you brush them off and miss out on what could have been the love story of a lifetime?
That's the conundrum one man on Reddit faced when he was browsing Tinder for a potential date and found himself faced with the profile of his manager at work.
At the time, the man admitted, he had been drinking and thought "it would be funny" to swipe right on her to tell the app he liked her, especially as he thought she would never find out, as he never expected her to do the same to his profile.

But as soon as he swiped, his phone screen lit up to tell him he had a match - meaning she had already swiped right on his profile while using the app.
In his post, he explained: "So I recently joined a new job. The manager that I have is very laid back and nice. She is very professional around the office and I am the same.
"Here’s where the f**k up starts. I went out drinking with my friends one night and my drunk a*s thought 'let’s hop on Tinder for a while'. There I see my manager’s profile and was shocked to see a completely different side of her. I thought to myself 'hmm, she’s kinda cool'.
"So I decided it would be funny if I swiped right on her. She’ll never know. Right? Wrong! The moment I swiped on her, we matched! Now she knows I swiped right on her. And what about the fact that we matched? She swiped too! Never mind the fact that we have never flirted even once.
"Now I don’t wanna go to the office and deal with the consequences of this. I should delete my Tinder account, shouldn’t I?"
Summarising his post in one sentence, the man added at the end: "Matched with my boss on Tinder and am too embarrassed to go to the office now."
And while the thought of having to confront your boss at work the next day with some awkward sexual tension in the air might be mortifying, many commenters on the Reddit post encouraged the man to talk to the woman - especially considering she showed interest in his profile first.
One said: "You both swiped right. Go for it, my dude!"
While another added: "She swiped first. Go for it."
And a third wrote: "We live in a strange world during crazy times, man. Have some fun."
