I’m finding the best Black Friday and Cyber Monday home cinema deals still on sale – huge surround sound savings and more

What Hi-Fi home cinema deals BF 2024.

Black Friday weekend is drawing to a close, meaning Cyber Monday is quickly approaching. There are still plenty of top-notch home cinema deals to take advantage of, though, so if you're after a projector, home cinema speaker package or AVR.

Deciphering which home cinema deal is actually worth your hard-earned cash is easier said than done, as the internet is full to the brim with money off AV gear. That's where why I and the What Hi-Fi? home cinema team have gathered the best discounts in one easy and convenient place.

We're only recommending the hardware that we've tried, reviewed and approved of, so you'll only find four and five-star products on this list. We've also verified the prices for each product to ensure you're actually getting a good deal; so without further ado, here are the best Black Friday home cinema deals.

Panasonic tends to impress with its TVs, offering a delightful "as the director intended" experience, and that is certainly the case with its flagship 2024 model. This TV is also notable for spearheading Panasonic's triumphant return to the US.

Panasonic tends to impress with its TVs, offering a delightful "as the director intended" experience, and that is certainly the case with its flagship 2024 model. This TV is also notable for spearheading Panasonic's triumphant return to the US; there's just one problem with it that we identified.

The 65-inch Z95A carried a wallet-shattering launch price of £3899 / $3200, which quite understandably ruled it out for many who simply couldn't justify paying that much for a TV. However, we have Black Friday to thank as of now, as the 65-inch Z95A can currently be found at Sevenoaks for £2599 – that's a colossal saving of £1300 on a brand new OLED TV.

For our US readers, you'll be pleased to hear that this deal has been mirrored on your side of the pond, with a deal on Amazon that knocks the price down to just $2299 – saving you $901.

Welcome to the What Hi-Fi? Home Cinema Black Friday deals live hub! In it myself (What Hi-Fi? Editor, Alastair Stevenson) and the wider home cinema reviews team will be swapping in and out to bring you our curated picks of the latest and greatest savings to be had this deals season.

And I have a special treat to kick things off – a cracking deal on the five-star Sony VPL-XW5000ES. Specifically you can grab the Sony VPL-XW5000ES for £4399 at Sevenoaks Sound and Vision (save £1600).

Why’s that a good deal? First because it’s the best price we’ve ever seen the unit sell for. Second, because it’s one of the best projectors you’ll get right now – to the point as well as giving it a perfect five star rating, we also still use it for comparative testing in our viewing rooms!

Looking for a simple home cinema solution to level up your movie nights, but don’t fancy any complex cable management? Then you should check out this Xgimi Horizon Ultra deal. The deal lets you get the Xgimi Horizon Ultra for just £1349 at Amazon (save £150).

Though it won’t match the experience you’ll get with the Sony projector mentioned above, or a proper multi-speaker 5.1 audio setup, the Ultra wins in one key area: convenience.

The unit is one of the growing number of “home cinemas in a box” featuring a Harmon Kardon tuned sound system, and UST throw distance that make it quick and easy to set up.

Though it struggles with shadow detail in some instances, we also found plenty to like about it during testing. The Horizon Ultra offers solid audio considering its small size and a punchy, sharp and bright picture that is more than good enough for casual viewing. Hence our reviewer’s conclusion:

“The Horizon Ultra marks a pretty auspicious debut for Xgimi’s new hybrid laser/LED light engine. There are certainly things about its picture – its vibrancy, its exceptional colour range, its sharpness and its strikingly effortless intensity among other things – that suggest the technology has a bright (pun intended) future.”

After a proper, multi-speaker, 5.1 surround sound package and got some cash to burn? Then I'd strongly suggest looking the current discount running on this award-winning Bowers & Wilkins package.

You can currently buy the Bowers & Wilkins 606 & 607 S3 speaker package for £2039 at Sevenoaks Sound and Vision, a massive £757 saving on its regular £2796 price.

The two time What Hi-Fi? Award winner remains the best small form factor, 5.1 setup in its class offering, warm, but dynamic audio that will do true justice to any movie you throw at it.

WARNING: We've hit peak Black Friday where retailers are rushing out deals at a faster pace than our team of experts can keep up with.

Which is why we've penned a fresh word of caution. Specifically, if you go rogue and decide to buy a projector, AVR or surround sound package on a deal we haven't checked make sure you check its price history. We're already seeing "deals" on key items alleging to be massive discounts when the reality is the product was cheaper earlier this year.

That doesn't necessarily mean you won't be happy with your purchase, especially if its on a product we've reviewed and award four or five stars to. But it does mean there's no rush. Remember, it's always better to go with a less haste more speed approach to deal hunting, even during Black Friday.

Keen to get full fat surround sound, but not keen on running cables throughout your viewing room? Then I have some good news. There are currently great deals running on both of Sony's wireless Dolby Atmos systems!

How about a new soundbar?

The JBL Bar 1300 might not have the prestige of the Sonos Arc Ultra or Samsung HW-Q990D, it is a solid four-star effort. And it's now £400 off, bringing it down to just £899 at Peter Tyson.

Want something a little cheaper? The Sonos Beam 2 is an award-winning Dolby Atmos soundbar and now down from £449 to £335 at Amazon.

Award-winning AVR!

OK, so it won an Award back in 2022, but this is a five-star-rated, top-performer that delivers spacious sound to any speaker system. You'll get all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a premium AVR – but now at a more mid-range price.

The AVR-X2800H has more HDMI 2.1 inputs than you'll likely need, a new user-friendly interface and, most importantly, a more responsive, coherent and spacious sound.

It retains Denon’s signature authoritative weight but refines and balances it with a bolder top end that can do better justice to both music and movies. With its onboard room calibration software and a modernised full-screen interface, it's relatively easy to use and well-equipped. Still a fine option, especially at this price.

Huge saving on premium Arcam AVR31!

If you're up at the crack of dawn, hunting for those sweet home cinema deals as Black Friday rolls into the weekend, we salute you. And we bring you good news! Arcam's five-star AVR31 had dropped to £3999 at Peter Tyson yesterday (a big £1500 saving off the RRP), but I've just spotted that it's dropped by a further £300 this morning! That's a whopping £1800 off a cracking home cinema amp.

Massive savings on this Award-winning UST projector

We've found a sneaky discount on this Award-winning UST projector, bringing the price down by £150. The Hisense PL1 is a brilliant value projector that could easily replace your TV, and we considered it to be a great purchase at the £1999 RRP at which we first reviewed it.

It's floated around £1599 for some time, but this discount chops the price down further to a tempting £1479; that's a saving of £520 from the launch price.

With its bold and engaging picture, sharp details and feature-rich operating system; the PL1 is a home cinema bargain for Black Friday.
