I'm a Celebrity's Sue Cleaver cut three foods from diet to drop four dress sizes

Sue Cleaver completely changed her look as she dropped a whopping four dress sizes and she managed to do it by just cutting out three foods in her diet.

The soap star, best known and loved for appearing as Eileen Grimshaw in popular soap Coronation Street, is currently facing a strict diet in the I'm a Celebrity jungle. During her time there she and her campmates rely on each other to win stars in order to be able to eat tasty meals.

But it isn't the first time that Sue, 59, has had to limit her food intake. The actress collapsed on the set of the Weatherfield show back in 2011 after suffering an attack brought on by Type 2 Diabetes.

Since then she has opted for a complete lifestyle overhaul by cutting out three foods from her diet and adopting new habits. She has swapped out food with a high sugar content as well as upping her exercise regime.

She also tries to stick to a diet loved by many stars - the Mediterranean diet. Since changing the way that she eats, Sue has gone from a size 16 to size 12, shedding three stone in the process.

The Mediterranean diet is high in vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, beans, cereals, grains, fish and sees people consuming foods with unsaturated fats in such as olive oil and avocado and usually includes a low intake of meat and dairy foods. It comes with many health benefits including helping to lower cholesterol and high blood pressure.

Diabetes UK also recommends the diet. The website states: "It could help reduce the risk of certain diabetes complications." It adds: "There’s also evidence to show that the Mediterranean-style diet can promote weight loss and improve blood glucose management in people with type 2 diabetes."

Speaking of Sue's weightloss, a close source previously told Woman Magazine: "She hasn't been this size since she was in her 30s. She's always been a self-confessed foodie, who admitted that over-indulgence was her Achilles Heel. Now, everything has changed."

They added: "Sue’s in her mid 50s so it was a no-brainer that cutting down on certain things was what she had to do. She's in this for the long game and wants to live a long, happy and healthy life."
