Nicola McLean shares horrifying I'm A Celeb shower conditions she braved for airtime

Nicola McLean has revealed some I'm A Celebrity stars 'barely washed for days' during their jungle stint due to the horrifying shower situation in camp.

The former glamour model, 41, explains how she could have easily skipped showers for the same reasons as her campmates but knew bosses had signed her up for the ITV show for a reason.

Nicola appeared on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! alongside stars like Timmy Mallett and Blue singer Simon Webbe in 2008, the year former EastEnders actor Joe Swash was crowned King of the Jungle.

The mum-of-two had originally applied to head Down Under the year before, before bosses opted to send Hearsay' singer Mylenne Klass into the jungle instead.

Giving her verdict on this year's I'm A Celebrity drama, Nicola lets slip some behind-the-scenes secrets from her own experience on the ITV reality TV show.

"Honestly, a lot of the other people in camp barely washed for days, and I get it, and I could have easily done that because of how freezing it was," Nicola explains.

"But I was in there for a reason and I wanted to get the air time so I sucked it up and got right in there," the star adds when speaking with the Daily Star.

Nicola provided some iconic I'm A Celebrity moments thanks to her steamy outdoor shower scenes which saw her slip into an array of tiny bikinis during the 2008 series.

The former Page 3 girl, who has had multiple boob jobs over the years, has previously admitted her ample assets are the reasons ITV bosses added her to the I'm A Celebrity line-up almost 15 years ago.

"I love my boobs and they've served me well. I don't think I'd have been chosen for I'm A Celebrity in 2008 without them," Nicola confessed to the Mirror earlier this year.

As this year's series of the ITV reality TV series causes controversy and drama, Nicola admits she was gutted to see 'good pal' Olivia Attwood head home early due to medical reasons.

The former glamour model explains how she was rooting for Olivia to win the show before the 31-year-old was pulled from the camp, and also gives her verdict on Matt Hancock's attempts to win over the British public on the show.

"I think it's atrocious that Matt [Hancock] is on the show, while we were all socially distancing and he was having an affair, it's just shocking," Nicola says.

"The fact that we lost so much of our lives to what he said we had to abide by the fact that he's cheated on his wife, it's just not for me," the star adds when speaking with The Sun.

"He doesn't look after anyone else apart from himself, does he."

Olivia gave her first live TV interview on Monday following her dramatic exit from camp and revealed all about rumours of a possible return to the jungle.

The former Love Island star, 31, admitted she has been 'too sad' to watch how her former campmates are getting on since she was forced to quit camp, and explained to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield how she would have handled Mr Hancock had she met him.

"You have to be careful," Olivia began when chatting on the This Morning sofa.

"I would have done things with humour and given him a bit of stick."

She then went on to add how Mr Hancock's reality TV venture 'isn't funny' for many across the country, given his failings in government during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"If you've lost a relative it's not funny," Olivia declared when chatting on the This Morning sofa.

Olivia then recalled how many British people couldn't say goodbye to their loved ones while Mr Hancock was 'snogging the face off' one of his colleagues.
