I'm A Celebrity's Matt Hancock's girlfriend can't resist dig at MP in letter from home

Matt Hancock's girlfriend Gina Coladangelo couldn't resist a dig at the MP in her letter from home on I'm A Celebrity.

After a successful day of winning trials, the celebrities sat down to read their letters from home. Mr Hancock received his from Gina, who has flown out to be the one who meets him at the end of the bridge when he makes his exit.

It was up to Lioness Jill Scott to read out Mr Hancock's letter from Gina. Gina and the former Health Secretary hit the headlines back in 2021 when a picture of them kissing emerged. The picture sparked fury and after being accused of breaking his own Covid rules during his liaison with Gina, he resigned as Health Secretary.

In the letter, even Gina couldn't resist a dig at the MP after she praised him for conquering some of his fears.

"Dear Matt, wow watching you in the jungle has been quite the experience. We are particularly impressed that you conquered your fear of snakes. We are less sure about the dancing," she said in the letter.

She added: "Although we saw that you almost got the electric slide thanks to Scarlette. Gina xxxxx”

Matt Hancock's affair with Gina Coladangelo became public knowledge in 2021, just as it also came to light that Hancock had broken his own Covid lockdown rules – leading to his resignation as the Health Secretary.

During his time in the jungle, Mr Hancock had spoken about his affair - and also revealed Gina would be the one who'd be greeting him on the infamous I'm A Celebrity bridge when he finally leaves camp.

Speaking to campmate Babatúndé Aléshé, Hancock revealed all on the moment he messed up, and the moment his affair was exposed - to which he said: "It’s no excuse but I fell in love."

"It was really tough," Matt said, to which Babatúndé replied to add: "Because you messed up." Matt then went on to explain, insisting: "I messed up and I fessed up. I resigned and it’s no excuse but I fell in love, right? That also had a lot of other consequences obviously."

"You didn’t just ‘fell in love’ you were grabbing booty bruv!" Babatunde then told him, leaving Matt to reply back: "Oh give over."

He concluded: "That’s been hard, I obviously brought it on myself, so yeah… it’s been tough." And asked if they were still together, he added: "With Gina? Yeah very much so, yeah, totally. That’ll be the best thing about being kicked out, seeing her on the bridge."

The affair was exposed after Hancock was caught on CCTV with Gina. It was believed that someone from the Department of Health leaked the image. At the time, both Hancock and Coladangelo were married with children.
