I’m A Celebrity 2023: Former campmate thinks Paul Burrell is ‘playing up to the camera’

Former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Nicola McLean has accused current South Africa campmate Paul Burrell of “playing up to cameras”. Nicola appeared on the ITV series in 2008, where Joe Swash - who you can read more about here - was crowned King of the Jungle.

Sharing her opinions on Instagram Stories Nicola said: "I am obviously here for him [Paul] being back and living his best life. I'm all for it, fly that flag.

"And I would be screaming if a snake was biting me but you can definitely see he was reenacting the first time round.”

Nicola added: “Even though I'm not a royalist, I don't like the fact he talks so much about Diana and he will definitely be in there talking about Harry and Meghan. And I don't know how true the stories are, I don't know if he was 'really' that close to Diana. No, he has definitely spilt everything and then made up more 100 percent." Do you agree with Nicola? Glamour model Nicola hasn’t been the only one to take aim at royal butler Paul, either. Shaun Ryder said: "I love Paul Burrell, but at the end of the day Paul comes from a pit village. Paul's dad was a miner, Paul is hard as f***."

Paul has also come under fire from his other campmates. Javelin thrower Fatima Whitbread argued with him after he brought contraband into camp.

At the time she fumed: "The rules are the rules, they've been broken and it shouldn't go unpunished whether we like it or not! We're all in it together. It shouldn't go unpunished!"

"What I don't like is people being shamed!" Paul replied and Fatima then said: "But you brought shame to you..."
