I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! 2022 boasts an all star line up with royals, singers and reality TV personalities in the mix. This year, viewers will get to see two soap stars enter the jungle and one of those is Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver, who is best known for her role as Eileen Grimshaw in the ITV soap opera.
Upon entering the jungle, the 59-year-old actress said: "I am going in with an open mind. Nothing is going to kill us and I am not going to wind myself up, trying to overthink everything. I don’t know how I will behave and I am going to let the experience unfold in front of my eyes.”
In recent years, Sue's fans can't help but notice that she has undergone a dramatic weight loss, but how did she go about that? And what's happening with her role in Coronation Street whilst she's in the jungle? Here's everything you need to know.
How did Sue lose weight?
Earlier this year, Sue revealed that she had lost three stone thanks to a very simple diet regime. It also helped her drop from a size 16 to a size 12.
The Corrie star's weight loss journey began in 2016. At the time, The Sun revealed she had joined the thousands of people following the Mediterranean diet, which is packed with nutritional foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and heart-healthy fats. It usually includes a low intake of meat and dairy foods, including foods with high sugar content. Sue was motivated to make a change after she was left unhappy with what she saw on the bathroom scales.
Is Sue leaving Coronation Street?
Much like previous soap stars who have taken part in I'm A Celebrity, Sue will make a temporary exit from Coronation Street whilst she appears on the reality show. Fans shouldn't worry though, as she has assured that she will be back on the Cobbles as soon as she has left the jungle.
Sue has also said that she has confided in Corrie co-stars Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald) and Jennie McAlpine (Fiz Brown), who have both appeared on I'm A Celebrity before. “They seemed to think I will have an absolute ball. They have told me I will love it and have a great time. It is very positive and I am going there feeling excited,” she revealed.
