I'm A Celebrity star Nicola McLean has admitted she was left “terrified” by an uncomfortable dining experience.
The 41-year-old star recently visited the notorious Karen’s Diner – a chain of restaurants which originally started in Australia where customers pay for an unpleasant dining experience where employees insult them throughout their meal.
Ex-CBB star Nicola visited one of the chain’s new UK locations where rude staff hurl abuse at their patrons for fun.
The mum-of-two has told how she went along to the experience not knowing what to expect and got more than she bargained for from abusive staff.
The TV personality told the Daily Star : "It was terrifying, I was scared of what they were going to come out with but it was absolutely hilarious.
"It was so good, they were calling me a sl*g and a Barbie if she came ordered from Shein.
"They even wrote on my hat 'The smartest thing that has ever come out of my mouth is a d***' again, brilliant.
"You can't even be annoyed because that's what you've gone there for and they're all just jokes."
Last month Nicola took to her Instagram to post a snap from her visit to the restaurant.
She was snapped beaming with a burger and chips meal in front of her, a glass of bubbles and the infamous hat on her head.
She captioned the post: "How I spent most the night speechless if you haven’t been to @karensdinerofficial I’d definitely recommend it. I was terrified but it was hilarious and the food was epic!! The fizz was needed #dontbeakaren."
She shared the post with her 259,000 followers and some were quick to take to the comments section to comment on the evening out.
One fan wrote: "I’ve been to the Birmingham one, it was hilarious xx"
Another excitedly penned: "Booked for this Saturday sooooo excited to be abused."
"I think you'd be brilliant working here for a shift," a third posted.
One said: "Karen's diner is mint. Food is surprisingly good. Laughed the whole time I was there. The kids got more stick than me. They're in their twenties. If your going. Brace yourself."
Her “terrifying” dining experience came just weeks after Nicola admitted she lied about her weight so she could purchase dangerous weight loss injections online.
The star has struggled with Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa since she was just 11 years old, and was later diagnosed with body dysmorphia.
Reality star Nicola confessed that her battle to stay healthy has been a continuous struggle for the last 30 years.
And in 2021, the mum-of-two was looking for a “quick fix” to lose weight, despite already being a very slim size 10.
