I just discovered this gem in IKEA - it's going to make seasonal cooking so much easier

The IKEA TILLREDA Slow Cooker making curry and noodles in GnoshGnosh's home.

IKEA has announced a new autumn must-have, the TILLREDA multicooker. Available for just £85, it boasts 14 hands-free functions for cooking everything from fluffy rice through to soups and stews.

With the weather cooling down, we're all dusting off our soup makers and casserole dishes in anticipation of some cosy, comfort food. But let me tell you, nothing will bring you heartier, healthier, easier dishes than this IKEA gem.

With a compact design and features that rival models twice, if not three times the price, I know these will sell like hotcakes. And maybe it will be cooking some hotcakes too.

Dimensions: 30 x 22 cm
Volume: 3L
Inner pot markings: 0.5-2L
Current: max 2.75 A
Programmes: Manual mode, Keep warm, Slow cook, Rice, Fry/Sauté, Steam, Bake, Boil, Yoghurt, Soup, Stew, Porridge, Oatmeal, Bread rise
Guarantee: 2 years

Unlike many multicookers on the market, the IKEA TILLREDA promises to "streamline meal prep without cluttering countertops." At just 30cm wide and 22cm high, it's compact enough to sit comfortably under wall cupboards on a kitchen counter, yet equally at home tucked away in a cupboard when not in use. However, that's not the main reason that this has been dubbed brand's "hidden gem" - it's the incredibly diverse functions that have broad appeal. They'll take you from morning oats right through to slow cooked dinners.

The 14 different functions cover all the essentials from soups and stews through to rice, while still supporting more adventurous home cooks who want to make yogurt or prove bread. The full line-up spans: Manual mode, Keep warm, Slow cook, Rice, Fry/Sauté, Steam, Bake, Boil, Yoghurt, Soup, Stew, Porridge, Oatmeal, Bread rise.

With the ability to throw everything in and let the cooker do the work, this is shaping up to be one of the best buys of the season. One of the standout features is that the inner pot can double as a stand-in hob for searing proteins on a high heat - a capability that's also boasted by the pricier Ninja PossibleCooker.

At this size and price, the TILLREDA is hard to fault. It's going to be a seasonal staple for small kitchens and those short on time as well as family homes. It's a versatile piece of kit that doubles up as a budget buy. Snap it up before word gets out.
