Long COVID is a serious health issue that afflicts a person soon after an infection by the coronavirus. The World Health Organisation (WHO) had recently taken cognizance of this grave health complication. Studies have found that 10-20% of the population infected by coronavirus are likely to develop this condition. Given the emerging COVID variants which are having high rates of transmission, a fact which has been validated by leading health agencies and experts worldwide, the number of people developing this condition can go alarmingly high.
