Victoria Azarenka's five-year-old son Leo was the special guest at her post-match conference. Mother and son cut a sunny frame, topping casual chic with stylish sunglasses.
Leo pronounced mummy's form in her 6-0, 6-2 win over the 15th seed Elina Svitolina as 'awesome'.
He was on his mother's lap for all of the 10-minute exchange. At the half-way stage he took off his glares and chewed it. Then when the two-time Australian Open champion was asked about what it was like to have Leo with her in Melbourne, the glasses were back on.
Azarenka said it was both demanding and relaxing.
"It's definitely not a distraction, I will never say that. Being a parent is not easy," she said. "He's full of personality. I don't know where he gets it from obviously…" The 32-year-old laughed.
"I feel privileged that I'm able to have him here. These kinds of moments are really priceless. To be able to share that with my son is pretty incredible."
Leo got a peck on his cheek at the end of the conference. A prize for good behaviour.
