As the cost of living crisis continues, people in the UK have been desperately trying save their pennies where they can.
Food prices are surging at record rates, so many are trying to find cheaper alternatives when it comes to their regular items.
Recently there has been a spate of people shopping at Marks & Spencer, and they are shocked to learn that the British retailer known for their high-quality goods, aren't as expensive as previously thought.
Content creator Lucy Kalice, a cleaning whizz with a whopping 54k followers on video sharing platform TikTok recently wanted to see if M&S really is as "reasonably priced as everyone says".
Lucy decided to do her normal weekly food shop at M&S, and picked up various items that she needed and wanted.
From the fruit and vegetable section she picked up blueberries and bananas, but left some Tutti Fruitti grapes on the shelf because "they were quite pricey".
She also added cucumber, little gem lettuce, green beans, broccoli, raspberries and strawberries to the trolley.
Then she went over to the meat section and picked up chicken fillets, breaded chicken tenders and a stuffed chicken, which she said was more expensive than Tesco "by a couple of pounds".
To the trolley she also picked up two seabass fillets for £4.50, two salmon fillets for £5.50 and 5% mince.
Lucy also bought some oat milk for £1.90, a pack of pre-made mashed potato, 12 eggs, gravy, bread, pesto, frozen sweetcorn and a packet of microwaveable rich which she was "very impressed" with the price of, at 75p. She grabbed two bags.
As she's heard so much about the M&S cleaning range she also picked up some of their washing up liquid to try.
Lucy concluded: "In total it cost £67.44 which I think is so good and on par with Tesco." In the caption of the video she added that she was "shocked" at the prices.
There's always much chatter about which is the cheapest supermarket in the UK, with Aldi having won the crown for the ninth month in a row by Which? consumer champions.
In the list, Tesco came third place of cheapest supermarkets, with Sainsbury's coming in second. The research didn't include M&S.
In the comment section, there were varying opinions of whether the prices were cheap.
One person said: "That's expensive for that food," but Lucy reassured the commenter that she had purchased more than she showed in the video, and that it was enough for five dinners and lunches.
However, others agreed that it was very reasonable, with one person saying: "I think what you got is really reasonable for a week's shop, that’s usually ours as a fam of three."
