‘I attended my first Bristol festival and it was an amazing experience’

Love Saves the Day took place this weekend (May 27 and 28) and not only was it my first Bristol festival but my first festival ever. Having never experienced a festival before I was excited to see what it would be like. With the weather being so warm on both days, it looked like it was going to be the perfect weekend for a festival, and a perfect weekend to experience everything Love Saves the Day.

Turning up at the event, the first thing I really noticed was that it felt relatively quiet for the start of a festival. Gates opened at 12 and while there weren't any long queues to get in or anything, I figured that as it was only early in the day, not many people would be there for the start.

Walking onto site after scanning my ticket, I was surprised at how big the space actually was, the field seemed to go on for miles and there were loads more I was yet to see. Dotted around the site there were plenty of things for festival goers to enjoy apart from the music, from the different bars and food shacks to the helter skelter and even a ferris wheel.

I was a little surprised at how many stages and different music areas there actually were on site. Along with the main stage there were around six other stages, all playing different music. I did wonder how it would work with that amount of stages close together all playing music at the same time but their setlists were all worked so that performances wouldn’t clash.

Heading to one end of the site I found an area that appeared to be where raves happen. The Big Top was located at the furthest right side of the site as you come from the main entrance. At one point on day one it seemed like that was the place most people were heading so I checked it out and wow it was crazy in there. Honestly one of my favourite parts of the weekend - something I did not expect.

Over the weekend the site saw tens of thousands of festival goers all enjoying the occasion and especially the music. The main highlight of my whole weekend was getting the chance to see Sugarbabes perform live. I would listen to their music on my CD player when I was just a kid so it provided a brilliant flash back to the past. And they played one of my favourite and one of their most favourite songs “About You Now”

I really enjoyed my time at Love Saves the Day, it was pretty much the perfect started festival to attend, not too big, not too many people and easily accessible. I have to say it has really made me excited to attend more festivals in the future.
