'I am struggling' - David Moyes makes Liverpool admission with Jarrod Bowen claim

West Ham boss David Moyes has labelled Jarrod Bowen “unbelievable” but struggled for the right words to describe Liverpool’s forwards.

The winger has been in impressive form so far this season, scoring eight goals and assists apiece across 27 league games, which has seen him earn plaudits throughout the Premier League.

In his press conference on Friday, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admitted he has been surprised by Bowen’s development: “We saw him as well at Hull and he was really good that time. I don't think a lot of people expected this jump. Unbelievable player.”

Having emerged as a potential target for the Reds last summer, his manager also applauded Bowen for progressing at such a fast rate - but was unable to find the words to describe Liverpool ’s attacking options.

“I see Bowen as having made unbelievable progress,” Moyes said .

“Always you want to see how players make progress and Jarrod has stepped up. And I don't mean just from Hull to West Ham.

“If we are saying Bowen is unbelievable then I am struggling for words for the players at Liverpool. We have huge admiration for them."

Though Moyes is yet to win at Anfield in 18 attempts as a manager, the Hammers did record a 3-2 win over Jurgen Klopp’s side in November to end Liverpool’s 25-game unbeaten run.

West Ham have been in inconsistent form in recent weeks, taking one win in their last four across all competitions, but are hoping to have several players back fit for Saturday’s game.

“Like everybody we have a few injuries and some coming back," Moyes said in his pre-match press conference.

"Ryan Fredericks is a bit better and so is Arthur [Masuaku]. We have a concern about [Tomas] Soucek because of the stitches,” he added, after the Czech midfielder suffered a cut to the face in Wednesday’s cup defeat to Soithampton.

However, one player that will definitely not be part of West Ham's squad is Andriy Yarmalenko as Moyes admitted that the forward has been training with the club but will continue to be with his family due to the ongoing situation in Ukraine.
