Candace Owens is facing heavy backlash after announcing a new investigative series about Erika Kirk, the wife of late conservative leader Charlie Kirk. The trailer for the series, titled “Bride of Charlie,” was released on Tuesday, February 24. Soon after, Meghan McCain strongly criticized the move on X, calling it “pure, unadulterated, f****** evil.” The reaction online has been intense, with many users defending Erika Kirk and questioning why this series is being made.

For context, Charlie Kirk’s death was publicly announced in September 2025. Since then, Erika Kirk has largely stayed out of controversy while stepping into leadership at Turning Point USA.
