‘I am actually so mad’: Georgia woman buys bike for Angel Tree child. Then she finds out Walmart gave it to the wrong person

Every December, the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program connects donors with children in need, allowing sponsors to purchase gifts like clothing, toys, and basic necessities for families during the holidays.

According to the organization, more than 1 million children received new items through Angel Tree last Christmas alone. Sponsors often share the experience of preparing their angel tree basket on platforms like TikTok, and recently, one has gone viral for a not-so-heartwarming reason.

TikTok creator Natasha (@secretnatuhlicious) says Walmart accidentally gave away a major Christmas gift that was meant for her angel.

In earlier videos, she talked about everything she planned to buy for the child assigned to her—some toys, snacks, and one big-ticket surprise: a bike with accessories.

Because it was Black Friday and she expected the store to be chaotic, she decided to order the bike online for pickup. When she arrived at the store, employees could not find it.

What Happened to the Angel Tree Bike from Walmart?

Natasha films the situation as it unfolds while she sits in the Walmart parking lot waiting for answers. Her video got over 1.5 million views as viewers watched the confusion happen in real time.

She writes in the video’s text overlay, “Finding out they gave away the bike I bought for my Angel Tree child.”

At the start of the clip, she approaches a worker and explains what she’s there for. “I’m looking for a bike,” she says. The employee pulls up an order that clearly is not hers.

“They gave me a Christmas tree for some reason,” she tells the camera. “So she’s gonna go switch something out.”

She explains that when she mentioned the bike, the worker seemed surprised that a bike was even in her order. “Mind you, I ordered this a couple days ago,” she says. “It was in stock on the website.”

As more employees go back and forth trying to locate the bike, there’s more confusion. One box appears, but it does not match what she ordered. “This looks like it’s for like a smaller child,” she says. “It’s for 5 to 9.”

Still waiting, she starts checking off the rest of her items at the car. “The helmet, the tire stuff, Mr Beast chocolate bars, beef sticks, the bike clock and the pump,” she says. “Oh, and the Lego set. I think that’s everything.”

More Back And Forth

After 25 minutes, she gets frustrated. “We’re going in ourselves,” she says. “This is just insane.”

Inside, she sees paperwork tied to another name. “That’s not me anywhere, and it says 6:00 a.m. pickup,” she says. “They gave it away to the wrong person,” she says. “And they got a nicer bike out of it.”

Standing at customer service, she learns that the original bike meant for her Angel Tree child is gone. “Now I know that I’ll be able to pay the difference for another bike,” she says, “but they gave it away to the wrong person, and that’s just insane to me.”

Still, she stays focused on the kid. “You know what?” she adds. “He’s about to get a better bike out of it, I think.”

Commenters Share Advice and Similar Stories About Walmart

Many viewers reacted quickly with their own Walmart pickup horror stories and advice.

“Girlll.. I had Walmart give a $400 grocery order to someone else. and the other person accepted it knowing it wasn’t theirs,” one commenter wrote.

“As an exmanager of The walmart,” another said. “You should have never paid any difference. Absolutely no way. That was never on you. That’s on them. You need to call corporate.”

“They need to implement an ID rule. To be sure the orders are actually going to the right person! infuriating,” one person added.

“Ask for the manager, you’ll have a free bike if you’re firm enough,” another wrote.

Things End Up Working Out

In a follow-up video, Natasha explains how the situation finally resolves after hours of being turned away.

“After two and a half hours of being told no by about three different store pickup associates and two different managers,” she says, “they sent me on my way with my refund and basically just told me to find a new bike myself.”

She says that it was nearly impossible just one day after Black Friday, but she made it.

“I only want to say thank you to Elena, the electronics manager,” she says. “She was willing to help me out and she got us a new bike.”

The replacement turns out to be a different kind of upgrade. “It’s a Hyper Spinner trick bike,” she says. “So for a 13-year-old boy I feel like that’s really exciting.”

The original bike was supposed to have pegs on the back. “This one has them on the front and the back,” she says, pointing out a reflector as well. “In case he does any night riding.”

She then shows everything else she adds to complete the gift. “A bike helmet, a bike lock and a bike pump,” she says. “And I got him a Lego set for those rainy days.”

She also included snacks. “Mr Beast chocolate bars and Mr Beast sticks,” she says, laughing as she misnames them. She even added slime tire sealant to prevent flats.

“I had the world’s biggest headache,” she says. “But I’m really glad that my Angel Tree kid got his bike.”
