Where to Find Iron Ore in Hytale
Unlike Copper, which can be found in abundance in basically any cave you stumble upon in the first biome, Iron Ore is much harder to find. This can pose a serious problem for your progression, as you need Iron Ingots for more or less every step of progression, from upgrading workbenches to unlocking more powerful tools. So, where the heck can you find Iron Ore in Hytale?
In the first biome, Iron can be found by exploring deeper sections of caves, especially those located near bodies of water. Players on the official Discord server suggest that caves spawning close to rivers tend to contain more Iron Ore on average than caves farther inland. That said, iron in the first biome only appears at greater depths. On the other hand, near the surface, you’ll mostly encounter Copper.

Best Iron Ore Farming Locations in Hytale
If you’re looking for the most efficient way to mine Iron in Hytale, you’ll want to focus on locations where it spawns in abundance. So, are there any good spots to farm Iron Ore? Based on my experience, caves in the desert biome (known as the Badlands) contain significantly more Iron Ore than caves found in the first biome. If Iron farming is your goal, heading to the Badlands is your best option.
In a single cave dive in the desert biome, I was able to walk away with two full stacks of Iron Ore, along with a hefty amount of Thorium as well (more than a full stack). If you ask me, that’s an impressive haul, and it’s exactly why I recommend the Badlands as the best iron farming location in Hytale. Of course, be ready for tougher challenges than in the first biome, but it's worth the risk.
