Hygiene ratings for every McDonald's in Wirral

No matter where you are in the country, you're never far from the Golden Arches of McDonald's.

From its humble beginnings in California, McDonald's has grown globally to become one of the largest fast-food chains in the world.

Now, the fast-food favourite boasts 39,000 branches in 115 countries, with plenty of offers across Wirral.

Wirral has six McDonald's branches across the borough serving up Happy Meals, Quarter Pounders and the latest Chicken Big Mac drop every day of the week.

But what about their hygiene ratings?

We have taken a look at all six McDonald's to see how the Food Standards Agency (FSA) rates them.

Food Standards Agency inspections are carried out by the local authority and findings are updated on the FSA website every time a new inspection by the council is conducted.

How are places assessed?

How hygienically the food is handled – how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored,
The condition of the structure of the buildings – the cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation and other facilities,
How the business manages what it does to make sure food is safe and so that the officer can be confident standards will be maintained in the future.

Premises are rated following a scheduled but unannounced inspection by environmental health officers.

Where premises fall below standard, officers carry out a range of interventions, including notices, revisits or more formal action depending on the conditions found, with the aim being to bring the premises back up to a broadly compliant position.
