The hunt for a killer who brutally murdered Glasgow mum Ann Heron in her own home continues 32 years after her death. The 44-year-old’s killing sparked a media frenzy at the time but despite being featured on Crimewatch, the suspect remains at large.
A Channel Five documentary this year sparked renewed interest in her death, the Scottish Daily Express reports. Ann Heron, born Mary Ann O'Neill, was born in Glasgow on March 24, 1946. Her first marriage was to a man named Ralph Cockburn, with whom she had three children with before their marriage broke down and she moved down to England at some point in the 80s.
Ann had left her children in Glasgow and in 1986 she began a relationship with married Peter Heron, a company director for a haulage firm. Peter divorced his wife and the couple married in the same year.
