A new Aldi store is opening in Liverpool this month and will be the 10th branch of the supermarket in the city.
The huge new Aldi is in Speke and offers shoppers fruit and veg, fresh British meat products, its ‘Specially Selected’ range, exclusive beers, wines and spirits, a ‘Food to Go’ section and more. The new store will also have Aldi’s legendary Specialbuys aisle, with people able to get their hands on a variety of bargains every Thursday and Sunday.
Opening on Thursday, June 30, Store Manager Sarah McGuiness and her team of 33 colleagues from the local community will be joined by Team GB bronze medallist Kelly Massey. Kelly will cut the ribbon in the morning to officially open the store, and will hand out complimentary bags of fresh fruit and vegetables from Aldi’s famous ‘Super 6’ range to the first 30 customers in the queue.

Aldi Store Manager Sarah said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Speke. It’s set to be a special day and having Olympic hero Kelly Massey join us will make it a morning to remember.” Track and field star Kelly added: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store; it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of Team GB.”
Aldi is looking for five Store Assistants, two Store Apprentices and one Store Caretaker for the new Speke branch. Applications and more information on all of Aldi’s store positions can be found here.
The new store is also calling on local charities and food banks in Speke to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to charitable organisations in the local community. Local charities that register will be able to collect surplus food and perishable products, such as fruit, vegetables and baked goods. Aldi Speke opens on Thursday, June 30 at 8am. It can be found at 80 Speke Hall Road, Speke, Liverpool, L24 9HA and will be open Monday to Saturday, 08:00 to 22:00.
