A massive RAF aircraft was spotted circling above Wirral and Liverpool.
An Airbus A400M was heard as it flew over Liverpool and Wirral at around 8pm on Monday, March 21. The A400M can be used to carry up to 116 fully-equipped troops to remote airfields and operates to an altitude of 40,000 foot.
The plane first set off from RAF Brize Norton in Carterton and headed south to Jersey, where it circled at least six times. It then headed back north and circled multiple times over Birmingham.

The plane then flew up from Birmingham to Merseyside where it began circling between 1,000 and 4,000 feet. A number of people took to social media to ask if anybody else saw the plane, or knew why it was circling.
One woman said: "Anyone else hear the military airbus at 2000ft fly over? Thats twice in 7 days. I wonder why. Just seems weird to me especially when you track them on the radar and see the weird patterns."
Another person said: "Always flying over. All sorts of forces too pretty much every day."
Typically based at Brize Norton, the plane is one of the biggest at the RAF's disposal. As well as vehicles and troops, it has the capacity to carry a Chinook helicopter.
The Airbus model is typically referred to as Atlas by the RAF, which will have 22 in its fleet by the end of this year. After venturing to Merseyside the plane returned back to base at Brize Norton.
