Rihanna and A$AP Rocky reportedly chose to name their son after a fellow musician, with the name having attracted attention following reports about it this week.
The singer, 35, and her partner, 34 - who are now expecting their second child together - welcomed their first child, who celebrates his first birthday this month, in May last year.
The couple have yet to publicly share his name with fans in the year since his birth, but it has now been reported that they chose to name their son RZA Athelston Mayers.
It has since been suggested that the name was chosen in honour of rapper and record producer Robert Diggs, 53 - who is better known by his stage name RZA.
He's known for fronting hip hop collective Wu-Tang Clan, whose sophomore album Wu-Tang Forever topped the charts in both the US and the UK upon its release in 1997.
The reports this week about the name of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky's son come following a copy of his birth certificate having allegedly been obtained by the Daily Mail recently.
It's been suggested that the couple's son shares his middle name with his father, whose name is Rakim Mayers. The latter however goes by the stage name A$AP Rocky.
Since the reports about his son's rumoured name, there has been speculation about to how pronounce RZA, with some fans having expressed confusion on social media.
Some people on Twitter have wondered if it's said like 'razor,' whilst others on the platform have instead questioned if the name RZA is pronounced 'reza'.
It's however believed that the correct pronounciation - at least according to the way in which the rapper RZA's stage name is typically pronounced - is actually 'rizza'.
This has been stated by the Daily Mail and people on social media. One person tweeted: "[It's] pronounced Rizza". And the rapper RZA supports that pronounciation in interviews.
Rihanna appears to have previously hinted at the name as she's been spotted wearing outfits featuring references to the Wu-Tang Clan since her son's birth last year.
This included her wearing an outfit that featured the group's logo during an outing in Los Angeles last month, when she was spotted carrying her son out of a restaurant.
And just months after his birth, Rihanna was even photographed wearing a t-shirt that featured rapper RZA on the front whilst out in New York City in August last year.
The t-shirt had showcased the rapper's name in bold letters on the front and referenced his third solo album Birth of a Prince, which had been released back in 2003.
