The Georgia Bulldogs host the NC State Wolfpack in Game 3 of the Athens Super Regional. The winner of Game 3 will advance to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
There’s a lot at stake for both Georgia and NC State. Georgia has not made the College World Series since 2008, when the Bulldogs advance to the national championship game. NC State’s last College World Series appearance came in 2021, when the Wolfpack’s national championship dreams came to a halt due to a COVID-19 outbreak.
“It comes down to Game 3 which is where two great teams probably should come down to,” said NC State baseball manager Elliott Avent. “We’re going to come up with a different plan for tomorrow, and we are going to make our adjustments to be ready to go,” said NC State star hitter Alec Makarewicz.
“For us, the bounce back was huge, and we just stayed focused on playing the game,” said Georgia baseball coach Wes Johnson after the Bulldogs won Game 2.

Who is favored?
Bet MGM favors Georgia (-120) against NC State (+155). Neutral fans will hope for a more competitive Game 3 after both Games 1 and 2 were blowouts.
Georgia baseball's starting pitcher
Georgia’s starting pitcher is expected to be Zach Harris. Harris has an ERA of 6.69 and is 5-1 on the year. Harris has appeared in 19 games this season and has just six starts. Harris has pitched 35.0 innings this year. Both teams won’t be afraid to go to their relievers if their starter struggles.
NC State's projected starter
We project NC State to start pitcher Logan Whitaker. Whitaker has a 6.23 ERA in 47.2 innings pitched and is 3-1 this season. The Wolfpack have a well-rested bullpen.
