Manchester City take on Newcastle United today for a place in the Carabao Cup final.

Pep Guardiola’s side face the reigning champions at St James’ Park in the first of two semi-final legs.

City have been ransacked by injuries, particularly at the heart of their defence, and they will be missing some key names on Tyneside this evening.

Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol and John Stones are all sidelined with various issues, while Savinho and Oscar Bobb reduce their numbers out wide.

January signing Antoine Semenyo made a goalscoring start to his City career in the 10-1 win over Exeter City in the FA Cup third round at the weekend.

City have fallen off the pace in the Premier League title race, drifting to six points off league leaders Arsenal after three straight draws.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are back in the Champions League conversation after three consecutive victories, and they needed penalties to beat Bournemouth over the weekend.

The Magpies are also laden with injuries, with Anthony Elanga and Jacob Murphy set for fitness tests while Dan Burn and Tino Livramento headline their problems at the back.
