It was a similarly frustrating start for tonight’s hosts, though, as they hosted Croatia and fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat. The veteran Luka Modric rolled back the years there, scoring the opener in Slaven Bilic’s first match of his second spell in charge of his nation.
