Apple users are being urged to allow an essential update to stop hackers getting complete control of their iPhones or Macs.
The company has explained that they are aware of a security gap that allows cybercriminals to hack the devices. If affected the hackers can text people, delete texts, see bank details and passwords. The essential update is available today to all those connected to a main power supply and Wi-Fi.
It is particularly recommended that people in the public eye download the update immediately as they may be more at risk of being targeted. Leigh McGowran of Silicon Republic told Claire Byrne Live that the security vulnerabilities puts people around the world at risk.
