Warzone‘s Black Ops Royale mode brought one of the slickest free rewards to grab, the Spotted camo, which is a universal skin that pops on any Black Ops 7 weapon.
It’s locked behind a certain Operator Order in a scavenger hunt-style challenge in the Old Arsenal POI, and you’ll need to grab dog tags to kick it off.
It’s pretty easy to get, just like the Bogey camo in Warzone, and here’s everything you need to know about getting the Spotted Camo in Black Ops Royale.

What is the Spotted Camo and how to get it in Black Ops Royale
The Spotted Camo stands out for its elegant, spotty design. It’s a universal skin, meaning it can be equipped on every gun from ARs to SMGs. Once unlocked, it’s forever yours to keep.
To get the Spotted Camo, head over to Old Arsenal (the small island in the southeast part of Avalon), the industrial hotspot in central Avalon with cranes, buildings, and red structures.
Find the tall red building, climb to the top floor, and scan the central table for shiny dog tags. Interact to pick them up. If you can’t find tags there, check the small nearby buildings or shacks on the edges for alternate spawn. This starts the Operator Order, and your HUD or challenges menu will show the progress.
After getting the tags, scour Old Arsenal for exactly 10 paint cans, which are small and colorful tins that only count if collected from this POI. These spawn randomly, such as inside corners of rooms, on floors, on top of barrels, window sills, shelves, or crates.
Check every building, warehouse, outdoor stack, basement, loft, and edge. It takes roughly 10 minutes if done correctly, but the criteria are that they need to be collected in a single match only. Die or extract without 10, and it resets next game.
Common Paint Can spots
Here are some of the most common spots where you can find Paint Cans in Old Arsenal:
- Main Red Building: Ground and upper floors, desks, shelves, often two to three here
- Small Edge Shacks: Corners, barrels outside, backup tag spot too
- Warehouses: Crates, high shelves, peek behind machinery.
- Outdoor Barrels or Cranes: Bases and platforms, climb for overlooks
- Random Roofs or Windows: Use double jump or slides to reach
How to unlock and equip the Spotted Camo in Black Ops 7
The challenge gets completed once you collect the 10th can, and the camo unlocks instantly.
After that, head to Weapons, then Gunsmith, select the Spotted Camo, and equip it on any gun. Save it to loadout, and it’ll work in BO7 MP, Zombies, and Warzone.
Since Black Ops Royale doesn’t have skin support yet, you won’t be able to use it in this mode at the time of writing. However, you can earn more rewards, including another weapon camo, charm, and a calling card, simply by completing challenges in this new mode.
