Taylor Swift has confirmed that a UK tour is on the cards for fans for the first time since her Reputation tour took place in 2018.
The news comes two years after the Love Story singer cancelled her Lover Fest tour in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown restrictions.
Fans have eagerly been waiting for a tour announcement since the Hyde Park Lover Fest concert, which was the only date scheduled in the UK, was initially rescheduled and later cancelled.
The Cardigan singer was also supposed to perform on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in 2020 but the event was cancelled as lockdown continued in the UK.
Since Lover Fest was cancelled, Taylor has focused on re-recording her first six albums and releasing lockdown projects, Folklore and Evermore, ahead of the release of new album Midnights, which will be released on October 21.
In recent weeks, Swifties have been speculating that a tour announcement was on its way and now the rumours have been confirmed thanks to the Taylor Swift UK website.
But will the tour take place in 2023 and how can you receive a pre-sale code for tickets? Here's everything you need to know.
Is Taylor Swift going on tour in 2023?
Taylor is known for her 'easter egg' surprises and she said in her 2020 Netflix documentary Miss Americana that "my life is planned, like, in like two years ahead of time. Like literally in two months they'll come to me with the dates for the next tour", so it's safe to say that the upcoming tour has been planned for some time."
However, all that's been announced so far is that the ME! songstress will be going on tour in the UK - with dates yet to be confirmed alongside the official name of the tour.
The rumour mill has speculated that tour tickets could be released in November as the shows could take place as early as 2023.
Sources have told Page Six that the singer is plotting a world tour for the summer of 2023.
One insider told the publication: "Taylor has some really ambitious plans in place. She’s excited to get back on the road after such a long but fruitful break.”
What will the tour be called?
Fans have previously speculated that the tour could be called the "Folklovermore" tour after her last three albums -Lover, Folklore and Evermore - as a majority of the songs have never been performed live due to the pandemic.
However, it is likely that Taylor will perform a mix of songs from her past albums, vault tracks and new tunes from her upcoming record on what could be the 'Midnights Tour'.
How to receive a pre-sale code to Taylor Swift's tour
It was announced on October 17 via Taylor Swift's UK website that fans can receive a pre-sale code to the next tour if they pre-ordered the Midnights album before October 21.
The statement read: "Pre-order the new Taylor Swift album ‘Midnights’ on any format from the official UK store to get special presale code access for forthcoming and yet to be announced Taylor Swift UK show dates.
"If you have already pre-ordered via this store you are automatically eligible to receive a code for access to the pre-sale and do not need to order again."
However, the statement has lead fans to think that it could still be a while before tour dates are announced.
The message continues: "Pre-sale details & further information will be confirmed at a later date and will be communicated with you officially and via the email you supply at checkout, so you have plenty of warning ahead of the pre-sale launch."
