The Soulseer Mizutsune is a 7* Leviathan that's one of the strongest mutations in Monster Hunter Stories 3, and unlocking it for your collection won't be an easy task.
For starters, you'll need to get the Mizutsune, which is an endangered monstie. On your way will be the Shogun Cenataur that you have to repel to gain access to the den in the first place. Let's look at how to unlock the Soulseer Mizutsune.

How to repel the Invasive Shogun Cenataur in Monster Hunter Stories 3
The first hurdle for you is to repel the Invasive Shogun Cenataur that can be found in the Canalta Timberland region. You can find its location on the image above (refer to the icon "5"). The Shogun Cenataur's Killer Claw attacks are extremely dangerous, and you'll need to have high defense.
Having party members that can trigger Defense Up will be a nice bonus, as you'll need to tank some hits. You can also use Mega Armorskin to buff up the defense of your monsties. Thankfully, the claws are easy to break as long as you can tank damage, and the creature will repel once you manage to nullify its attacks.
You will be able to access an egg den that allows you to get a Mizutsune (after the egg hatches).
How to get Zinogre in Monster Hunter Stories 3
To get the Soulseer mutation, you'll need a Zinogre, which is also an endangered species. You'll need to go to Tarkuan and repel an Invasive Odogaron (location marked as "8" in the image above). You need to use a monstie with a mud move.
Having an ability like the Mud Torrent will help you to break the Odograon's claws and force it to back off. Then, you can access a den that has a Zinogre egg. Wait for it to hatch, and you have your Zinogre.
How to get the Soulseer Mizutsune in Monster Hunter Stories 3
There are two requirements to fulfil to unlock the Soulseer Mizutsune egg.
- Get Mizutsune's Ecosystem Rank to S.
- Resides in habitats that have at least one other endangered monster that is a rival to Mizutsue, which is our Zinogre.
Once you've found your first Mizutsune and Zinogre, release them in the same area. This will now allow you to find more Mizutsune and Zinogre eggs in the same region. Keep obtaining and releasing more Mizutsune in the same area until its Ecosystem Rank is up to S. You'll now have met both requirements for getting your Soulseer Mizutsune.
You can loot random dens and hope to get lucky, or Paintball a Mizutsune. It will then lead you to its den, and if you're lucky, you'll find a Soulseer Mizutsune egg to get the mutation for yourself.
