The advice was never about you
Every styling guide for the pear shape tells you the same things: structured blazers, A-line skirts, wide-leg trousers, boat necks. The logic is sound enough in theory, draw the eye upward, balance the silhouette. But that logic was built on a specific body: longer torso, shorter hip-to-waist ratio, a frame that sits differently in Western cuts. When you apply it to an Indian body, shorter torso, fuller hips that sit higher, a waist that curves sharply and quickly, the same advice produces a different result. The blazer swamps you. The A-line skirt hits at the wrong point on your calf. The wide-leg trouser turns into a tent. The problem was never your body. The problem was the template.
